Where to Park in Baia Verde and Gallipoli

The real problem for those who come to Gallipoli in August. Here is where to leave your car, how much it costs, and how to avoid stress.

Anyone who comes to Gallipoli for the first time underestimates the parking problem. Baia Verde is a coastal strip with only one main artery, Via Gran Viale al Mare, which in July and August gets congested as early as 5 PM. If you don't know where to go, you could drive around for 40 minutes before finding a spot.

Main parking areas

Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL)

By booking directly with Gallipolitravel you will receive the ZTL pass in advance, should your accommodation lack a private car park. It will be used only and exclusively in those cases. Transit is permitted on the following streets: Via delle Dune, Via Gran Viale al Mare, Via della Chiesa and Uscita SS274.

Seasonal paid car parks

In the summer months (typically June–September), privately managed seasonal car parks are activated in the areas close to the beach. Prices vary every year.

Generally, the hourly rate ranges from €1.50 to €2.00, with more convenient weekly passes. There may be variations following decisions by the Municipality. They almost always accept cash only.

The free shuttle from Gallipoli to Baia Verde

The Municipality of Gallipoli activates a service every summer of free shuttle that connects the city centre to Baia Verde. It is the ideal solution for those who want to leave their car at the "A. Bianco" Stadium car park and completely avoid the parking problem at the beach.

💡 For those staying with us: stop 3 (Via Gran Viale al Mare) and stop 4 (Baia Verde Station) are a few minutes' walk from most of our apartments. You leave your car safe in the centre and forget about the parking problem for the whole holiday.

Frequently asked questions about parking

During the peak of August, traffic is heavy, but not impossible. The key is knowing where to look or, better yet, having a reserved parking space. By booking your apartment with Gallipolitravel, most of our solutions already include a private parking space: so you arrive and enjoy your holiday without wasting time driving around in circles.

If you book one of our properties with ZTL access, we will provide you with the official pass that authorises you to transit in advance. It is an exclusive benefit for our guests: it allows you to access restricted areas in total peace of mind, avoiding the heavy fines that unfortunately affect many unsuspecting tourists.

Many seasonal parking meters in Baia Verde are dated and often only accept cash. We strongly advise you to always have coins or small change with you. For this reason too, having a private parking space included with your apartment is the most convenient and smart choice to avoid depending on parking meters.

The stadium car park is an excellent solution for those who want to get around by shuttle, but keep in mind that it is very busy in high season. If you prefer not to move your car for the entire holiday, the 'Apartment with parking space + municipal shuttle' combination is undoubtedly the most relaxing mix for experiencing Gallipoli.
