Where to Park at Baia Verde and Gallipoli

The real problem for those who come to Gallipoli in August. Here's where to leave your car, how much it costs and how to avoid stress.

Those who come to Gallipoli for the first time underestimate the parking problem. Baia Verde is a coastal strip with only one main artery, Via Gran Viale al Mare, which gets clogged from 5pm in July and August. If you don't know where to go, you can wander around for 40 minutes before finding a place.

The main parking areas

Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL)

Booking directly with Gallipolitravel receive the ZTL pass in advance, if your accommodation does not have private parking. It will be used only and exclusively in those cases. Transit is allowed on the following streets: Via delle Dune, Via Gran Viale al Mare, Via della Chiesa and Exit SS274.

Seasonal paid parking

In the summer months (typically June–September) private seasonal car parks are activated in the areas close to the beach. Prices vary every year.

Typically the hourly rate ranges from €1.50 to €2.00, with weekly subscriptions being more affordable. There may be variations following decisions by the Municipality. They almost always only accept cash.

💡 Tip from Gallipolitravel: If you stay with us, ask which apartment has a parking space included or has an agreement before booking. You avoid the root problem.

💡 With the ZTL pass: those who receive the Gallipolitravel pass can also access the parking areas reserved for ZTL pass holders, dedicated exclusively to those who have the right to transit in the area: a concrete advantage compared to looking for a place on public roads.

The free shuttle from Gallipoli to Baia Verde

The Municipality of Gallipoli activates a service every summer free shuttle which connects the city center to Baia Verde. It is the ideal solution for those who want to leave the car at the "A. Bianco" Stadium car park and completely avoid the problem of parking on the beach.

💡 For those staying with us: stop 3 (Via Gran Viale al Mare) and stop 4 (Stazione Baia Verde) are a few minutes walk from most of our apartments. Leave your car safely in the center and forget about the parking problem for the entire holiday.

Parking FAQs

In the peaks of August the traffic is intense, but not impossible. The key is knowing where to look or, better yet, having a reserved parking space. By booking your apartment with Gallipolitravel, most of our solutions already include a private parking space: so you arrive and enjoy your holiday without wasting time going around in circles.

If you book one of our facilities with ZTL access, we will provide you in advance with the official pass that authorizes you to transit. It is an exclusive advantage for our guests: it allows you to access the reserved areas in total tranquility, avoiding the high fines that unfortunately affect many unaware tourists.

Many seasonal parking meters at Baia Verde are dated and often only accept cash. We strongly recommend that you always have coins or small denominations with you. Also for this reason, having a private parking space included in your apartment is the most convenient and smart choice to not depend on parking meters.

The stadium car park is an excellent solution for those who want to travel by shuttle, but keep in mind that it is very busy in high season. If you prefer not to move the car for the entire holiday, the 'Apartment with parking space + municipal shuttle' combination is undoubtedly the most relaxing mix to experience Gallipoli.
