Gallipoli beaches: Praja, Zen, Zeus and Banzai
Everything you need to know about the beaches of Baia Verde: distances, atmosphere, prices and which one is best suited to you.
Baia Verde is the liveliest beach area of ββGallipoli. The beach is about 3 km long and hosts a series of equipped beaches, some historic, others more recent, each with its own character. Here is the practical guide to orient yourself, written by those who work there all year round.
The beaches one by one
π΅ La Praja
La Praja is the most famous lido-disco of Salento. During the day it is a bathing establishment with umbrellas and sunbeds; in the evening it transforms into a venue with live music, DJ sets and aperitifs by the sea. It opens at night (usually from 11pm), with peak attendance between midnight and 3am.
It is the reference for those who come to Gallipoli for the nightlife. The quality of the beach is good, the water is clear, but the main experience is in the evening.

π Zen Beach
Zen Beach is perhaps the most complete lido of Baia Verde: spacious beach, shallow water in the central part (also ideal with children), bar and restaurant area during the day, and a smaller evening area compared to the Praja. Less chaotic atmosphere, more suitable for those who want to enjoy the sea without the nightlife.

π Banzai
Banzai is the sports club. It offers activities such as beach volleyball, SUP, snorkeling and surfing courses. The atmosphere is more energetic and youthful, with music during the day. Popular among groups of friends looking for an alternative to the passive beach.
β‘ Zeus Beach
Zeus Beach is a lido equipped with a fairly rich program of summer events. Compared to the Praja it has a vocation more of a classic bathing establishment with some evenings, less oriented towards disco. Good choice for those who want to stay in an organized place without the crowds of the most famous beach.
Free beach: does it still exist?
Yes, but you have to know where to look. The free beach at Baia Verde is mainly found in the strips between one beach and another, generally free in the early morning, occupied by "wild" chairs and umbrellas from the afternoon. The quality of the water is the same as the equipped beaches, the sand is identical.
For those who prefer a free beach without compromises, Lido San Giovanni (Residence Rosa Virginia area) has quieter beaches 100 m from the shore.
